OBSERVATION REPORT
As I observed the class, individual differences among learners was shown, there are learners who are really attentive during the class discussion and there are also others who were just sometimes listen to the discussion but the attention span is too short and there are others who really fond of making noise during the discussion. As I am observing the learners, those who are seating in the front are those pupils who are performing well and those who are seating at the back who are fond of making noises are those pupils who are low performing. I also observed the higher section vs. lower section, it has a big difference in terms of thier behavior and cognitive learning because higher sections tends to be a good learner, who always listen and very interactive in the discussions and not totally noisy. while the lower class, although they are interacting with their teachers but not in manner, they always make fun with his/her classmates. One thing that happened during my observation, the teacher lost his temper that leads him to scold his students. That's was the first time I saw him being mad, I think he don't have enough patient because the students show their bad attitudes.
ANALYSIS
1. Did your observation match the information given by the teacher? Were you able to correctly identify who among the students performed well and who did not? What behavior helped you identify them? (volunteering to answer, responding to teacher's directions, etc.)
In my observation the information matched that has given by the teacher. I conclude that most students who performed well and some not so actively performing well. Students behavior helped me identify the well performing students is that they are very fond of raising their hands when the teacher asks them several questions about the subject matter, and also I be able to identify those students who are not so good in class by means of when the teacher asks them a particular question they wouldn't be able to answer the question and often when the teacher asks them they just remain quiet.
2. Describe the differences in ability levels of the students in the class. Is there a wide gap between the students who are performing well and those that are not?
Those students who perform well in the class have the ability to fully understand the lesson while those students who performed not so well takes a longer time for them to understand the lesson. And Its hard for them to cope up the lesson especially the teachers discuss another lessons.
3.Describe the methods used by the teacher in handling the students' differences in abilities. How did the students respond to the teacher?
Teachers used methods in handling a class to her students whether their cognitive ability is high or low achiever they treat them equally. She addresses the class as a whole and not by making her students think that there is a barrier among those students who performed well than those who are not.
REFLECTION
In the near future as I will be teaching the next generation, I will never forget this desire of letting the students understand all of the lessons. An it could never been deny that there are learners whos is slow and high, it is not enough if only some can fully understand it. It must be the class as a whole because all of them deserve equal right and treatment.
